our pet policy
We love animals…
All animals but mainly dogs. Dogs are most welcome at the Melvich Hotel. As are cats, but they don’t travel so well.
(NB: You might want to check with us before bringing any other pet to visit. We’re sure it would be fine but we might have to buy in extra red meat for your Siberian Tiger, as a for example)
So yes, we do love dogs and Axel is keen to show all canine visitors around, however there are a few rules to abide by which we lay out here.
Please note: We don’t charge anything for doggy housekeeping or for pet stays - but ensure your pal is house trained please or there will be a bill to follow.
Dogs are allowed in most, but not all, public areas. Friendly spots include the public bar, resident’s lounge, bedrooms and naturally, the garden.
Sadly no doggos in our restaurant. While we are dog people, the environmental health people are not and so regulations will not allow. Also while we love our poochy pals, some guests also do not so we do respect other people’s enjoyment of their delicious food in this regard.
If you are unable to leave your favourite friend alone in the bedroom, or in a well ventilated car, then we are happy to ensure you have a delicious meal in our public bar. The pub welcomes all canine patrons and serves the same menu as our restaurant. It doesn’t have the same view but the pizza tastes just as good.
Please ensure you clean up after any ablutions in our garden, There is a bin for this purpose.
If you don’t think any of the above will suit your pet’s preferences for travel then we entirely understand, are sad to lose you and wish you a great holiday all the same - the restaurant policy is non negotiable so please don’t expect there to be any flexibility.
Please ensure your wee pal is presented at reception for noggin scratches and head boops before check out.
